The Striders make full use of Monmouth's superb location and arrange walks in the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Gloucestershire, Wye Usk Valley, and Herefordshire, See the photograph gallery at the end of the page.
We meet at Rockfield Community Centre car park, Cornwallis Way on the 1st Thursday and 3rd Wednesday every month, departing for the start of walk promptly at 9.30 am, unless otherwise stated in the walk programme.
We car share, taking turns to drive and share petrol costs. Striders walks are led by members of our group and include a morning coffee and lunch stop.
The committee recommend a charge of 30p per mile. The cost is to be shared between all occupants of the vehicle. Walks are usually 7-10 miles in length and normally last about 5 hours.
In Case of Emergency (ICE) cards are being sent out with membership cards. Please write down the details of the person you would like to be informed in the event of an accident, and carry them with you on U3A walks.
