A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success. Click on Members' Meetings on the home page and you can read the report our Press Secretary Marianne has sent to the Beacon, and see one of the photographs. There will be photographs of all the displays who attended in the Monmouth U3A 30th Anniversary Issue magazine posted to members at the end of August.
Celebrations are planned for July 14th at Bridges Centre with an Open day for members and non-members 10am - 1pm. Many of our groups will have displays of their activities, ranging from models supplied by the science group to photographs of walks in the Brecon Beacons. The flower arrangers will be showing some beautiful arrangements and there will be a display of Country dancing. Monmouth U3A has over 50 Activities so there will be plenty going on. Jazz Appreciation are providing recorded jazz and the Bridges Bistro will be open for refreshments.
In the afternoon there will be a Members Meeting/ Party with entertainment from the FOD Ukulele Group, and Pimms, strawberries and cream, and plates of party fare brought by members. A special Anniversary cake is being baked and will be cut by Founder Members who are present.
All our members should have received the latest issue of the annual Monmouth U3A Magazine together with membership renewal forms in the post. We hope you enjoy reading about the many activities we offer, together with coffee mornings, monthly members' meetings and festive lunches.
Our next Members' Meeting is the Annual General Meeting on the 19th September, and if you have a few hours a month to spare and would like to know more about becoming a trustee, do read page 1 of the magazine or contact a committee member for more information. We look forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes, Jenny Robbins
