Information For Convenors
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO START A GROUP PLEASE CONTACT
Mary Ross - Groups' Coordinator e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
The individual groups are the lifeblood of U3A, and at present Monmouth has over 40 groups. These cover a wide variety of activities where members share their knowledge and expertise, and meetings are sociable and relaxed. In a very few situations, professional tuition is required and an external facilitator is used, currently for Yoga, Singing for Pleasure and French and Spanish Conversation.
Each group has one or more convenor (leader) that coordinates the activities, which can take place in members' homes or in hired rooms/halls depending on the size of group and type of activity. Members are encouraged to be fully involved and are invited to start new interest groups with assistance from the Groups' Coordinator who offers support to the convenors, keeps the timetable up to date, and can advise on resources available from the National Office. Members taking part in U3A groups and activities do so entirely at their own risk. The U3A does not insure members against personal accident or loss.
