INTERMEDIATE FRENCH

Convenors Robert and Marie Everett
email robeverett@hotmail.co.uk or meeverett@hotmail.co.uk
This group is led by a native French speaker and its aim is that, by speaking, reading and translating, we improve our French language skills. We meet locally on Monday mornings at 10 a.m. to 11.30am (Bank holidays we try to meet on Tuesday at 2pm). We pay our tutor directly for 10 sessions at a time. If you want to know more, please email our convenors. Car parking is available.
The group continues its lively sessions and it is always interesting to hear members include snippets of history when talking about their individual travels.  Amusing experiences frequently raise much laughter and improve well-being. The group is full at present (in more ways than one) but is happy to offer information about alternative groups.

LES PETITS FRANÇAIS - IMPROVERS Convenor: contact member of committee if interested in this group
Do you have a little knowledge of French but wish that you could speak it better, then why not join Les Petits Français. As the name implies we are a small group of people who have a little knowledge of French but wish to improve.
We meet Tuesdays at 10.30am for 90 minutes in member's homes.
We have a native French speaker as our tutor and we concentrate on conversation and appropriate grammar. In the main the meeting is conducted in French discussing a variety of topics connected with the life and culture of France. In the last few weeks, amongst others, we have discussed Pastis, Lavender and Land Crabs on Guadeloupe. We work from a French text which we take turns at reading and translating. This usually brings up questions about grammar which are expanded on as required.
To help back up what has been learned during the sessions, we usually set ourselves a grammatical exercise to be completed for the following week. We decide at each meeting which French text we are going to use for the following week in order that members can prepare themselves.

SPANISH CONVERSATION
Convenors  Barbara Mustard email g.mustard@btinternet.com
The Spanish Group is continuing under the guidance of an excellent teacher. There is a charge for this class.
We do occasionally have places for new members but since we have been going several years it would only suit those who already have a good grounding in the language. We are a friendly supportive group and our tutor does make learning interesting.
We meet on Monday evenings from 6.00 pm until 7.30pm in Monmouth. Please contact Barbara Mustard at g.mustard@btinternet.com for further information.
