Petanque

Convenor Jacqueline Newton jacquelinenewton57@gmail.com
The U3A pétanque group meets on the first and  third Thursday in the month at the Rockfield Community Centre, starting at 2:00 pm. The petanque group meets all year round, not playing only when it's very cold, or very wet, or both.  No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.
Pétanque (or French boules) is played by both sexes on an equal footing and is also playable from a wheelchair or by anyone who needs a cane to support themselves. As long as you have one good arm to throw a boule you will be able to play. The aim of the group is to have fun in the outdoors without worrying too much about skill levels and perhaps prepare you for your summer holidays.
'I am glad to say we are now able to hold petanque sessions again, albeit under carefully controlled Corona conditions. If anyone is interested in taking part in petanque and has not already contacted me please send me an email to me at the address below. I can then explain how we are currently playing.'
