RECORDER PLAYERS

Convenor Ann Marshall

The recorder group meets in the Wye Room at Drybridge House (Bridges) on the first, third, and (when it happens) the fifth Tuesdays of each month from 10-12 noon. There are 28 of us in the group at the moment and new members are very welcome. Our choice of music is quite eclectic, ranging from medieval to modern (including pop music, jazz, hits from the shows etc).
For those of you who have 'experienced' recorders at school or have heard children learning to play, you will be pleasantly surprised at the sound that an adult group of players can make.   We are also lucky enough now to have members who own big recorders which enable us to play the full range of instruments ranging from the very mellow-sounding 6ft contrabass to the tiny sopranino - our very own orchestra!
We very occasionally give public performances but our focus is on exploring different styles whilst still having a fun time. If you feel recorder-playing is for you, please contact our convenor, Ann Marshall.
